Although she’s well known as the goddess of weather, Oya played many disparate roles, which was the reason she was such an important deity in Yoruba religion. She commanded the lightning, storms and winds and could bring about tornadoes, earthquakes or practically any kind of weather she chose. As the goddess of change, she would bring down dead wood, making room for new ones.
In addition, Oya was also a funerary goddess who carried the souls of the dead to the next world. She watched over those who were newly dead and helped them to make the transition from life to death (in other words, to cross over).

A fixed candle (also known as a loaded candle or a dressed candle) comes infused with our own herb blends and conditioning oils to serve the function for which it was created. Jayla will dress the candle(s) while meditating over them to give them energy.
If you cannot light the candle in your residence or place of dwelling, Jayla can light the candle for you on her Altar. Please let us know in the notes at the time of purchase. If you do choose to have the candle burned on Jayla’s altar, please choose ALTAR SHIPPING at checkout to avoid shipping fees. If you want the candle(s) mailed to you, please choose the shipping method for priority mail. We will not mail out candles that have ALTAR BURN listed as the shipping method.
